Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is nestled in the West Java, in the Banten province. Beaches on this coast is known to be some of the best as they offer good surf, calm swimming spots, considerably healthy reefs, and white inviting sand. Only 3 hours car ride away from bustling Jakarta and a short 30 minutes from Carita, Tanjung Lesung is a pleasant choice for a weekend getaway.
Jakartans and beach-goers from other cities in the country might flock this west coast of Java area, but Tanjung Lesung will remain serene and private, as there are limited accomodations here. The Beauty and serenity of Tanjung Lesung’s surrounding area is also made possible by legendary peak of Krakatoa. it is a sight that made Sunda Strait famous all around the world.
Tanjung Lesung SEZ developed by PT Banten Tourism Development Corporation, the subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk that appointed as Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and inaugurated by President Jokowi on 23 February 2015.
On 27 November 2015, Arief Yahya, The Minister of Tourism appointed Tanjung Lesung as one of the leading tourism destination in Indonesia which is include as the National Tourism Development Zone (NTDZ).
Tanjung Lesung SEZ will also develop as integrated tourism township with total area 1500 hectare. Tanjung Lesung already has completed infrastructure such as Salakanagara Airstrip, street, electricity, internet connection, telephone, gas, fibre optic network to the provision of clean water (Water Treatment Plant) and Waste Water Treatment Plant that has already operated with eco-friendly policies also with the capacity to support the development area in the future.
More over, this area will also supported with Serang-Panimbang highway which is still in land acquisition process, Labuan railways reactivation and the development of South Banten Airport in Panimbang.
